JARDINE HOUSE
INTERIOR DESIGN
The Jardine House is an Additions & Alterations project that includes an extension wing that caters for a new dining hall. The approach to the dining hall is framed by a wooden portal in order to treat the existing columns. The slanted roof floats above responding to the pitched roof profile of the main building. The timber trellis screens off the entrance foyer from the main living and dining areas. The modern feature staircase accentuates a theme of continuity up from the first storey all the way to the soffit of the existing roof. This is achieved by applying a modest colour palette with a well-balanced mixture of warm woods and stone textures.
