BACH HOUSE
ARCHITECTURE
Designed for a family of 7 that values privacy and spaces for social gatherings, the 3-storey semi-detached house with an attic comprises of a monolithic block elevated above the ribbon windows at the first level, thereby creating a juxtaposition between the concrete mass and the horizontal planar ledges that act as sun-shading to the main communal space at the living and dining area. The western façade wall wraps up over the building, acting as a shell to shield the internal spaces from the western sun. The slanted side profile of this façade wall echoes the chamfered outline of the given site boundary.
